This is an introductory course on how to use a software tool called Open VPB. It is used for phone banks and automatically dials a telephone number. Wisconsin Democrats and their various campaigns use this tool at all levels - statewide (U. S. Senate, President, WI Supreme Court) as well as state assembly and senate campaigns. Some local campaigns may also use this tool. The topics below include an overview and how to use the software.

Some of the benefits to the tool include:

- prefiltered telephone numbers from the Voter Activation Network (VAN) (coordinated by campaigns)

- automatically dial the telephone number

- easy collection of notes after the call through a coding system

- automatically advance to the next number

- the tool makes it easy to take a break from calling
