The course demonstrates the enormous value to campaigns of volunteers and how they can elect Democrats and Progressives to local, state, and national offices.

Main Course Description

Volunteers bring a lot of energy to the table, especially in the area of canvassing. Although canvassing may feel outdated with the rise of social media, it is still one of the most valuable campaign tools. Canvassing gives the campaign a human face and allows people to personally promote the campaign's message, increasing the campaign’s presence and prominence.

When volunteers meet voters face‐to‐face at the voters’ home — it is one of the oldest and most effective methods of contacting voters and influencing a persuadable voter. The vast of majority of voters you will be contacting are Democrats or Independents who have supported our candidates and issues in the past. The personal contact allows voters to ask questions about the candidate and express their hopes, fears and frustrations about the issues that affect their daily lives. This conversation makes the contact more memorable and thus more likely to influence the voter’s behavior on Election Day.

The passion that you and other volunteers bring to a campaign can be very persuasive to others.

More supporters result in more votes. The candidate with the highest number of votes win!

Remember, it works!
